How to help your child learn English at home?

Chinese is usually the first language and English is the second language in Hong Kong homes. Parents often rely on schools to teach their children English.

But a rich language environment is important for learning a second language. Parents can help a lot by reinforcing English learning at home or out-and-about. They can use library books, street signs, shop displays, youtube videos, nursery rhymes, short stories or even apps on their mobile phones.

These little activities all add up to expose children to a rich English environment and help them to interact with the language.
